The more interesting, appealing, accurate and worthwhile you make your opportunity, the more success you will have in attracting and finding the right volunteers. We do reserve the right to make changes to the information when it is entered into our database but we will make every effort to discuss with you in order to confirm and finalise any listings you add, so please ensure that the contact details you provide us with allow us to do this.
We will also add a header image to submitted listings and aim to get them online as quickly and efficiently as possible. You can also request for us to advertise your opportunity on our social media pages and/or in our newsletters. What should your volunteer listings include?
Volunteering opportunities on our website must include the following information and settings:
- A short and clear job title, preferably without including your organisation’s name (this will be in the description instead)
- Contact details, which ideally would include an email address, phone number and website address
- Categories should be added to indicate the type of tasks included in the opportunity. We have 16 main categories for our listings overall which can be found on our main volunteering webpage. While these main categories show the topic of the opportunity, adding other categories will indicate different aspects of each role, such as the age limit and/or whether references or a DBS check are required.
- A physical address for the opportunity will only be included if the opportunity is within the Bracknell Forest Borough. We can add listings outside of this area, but they will not show up on our map.
- A town or city is a mandatory field, and includes the different areas within Bracknell Forest, but if your opportunity is Berkshire wide or just not specifically located in the Bracknell Forest Borough, this field can be left blank.
- The description of the opportunity would preferably start with an overview of what your charity does and why you require volunteers with this role, and should be completed with more details about the role, the volunteers responsibilities and preferred skills or characteristics etc.
Are you running any one-off events or tasks that will require a group of multiple volunteers?
If you are a voluntary community group, charity or organisation and you have a larger project that would require lots of volunteers, or if you are organising an event that requires one off volunteers, please be sure to let us know!
We can either match your opportunity with a group of corporate CSR volunteers who will help with your project for a day or two, or we can advertise your event or task via the Volunteer Pool so any individuals who are interested can sign up to help out. Please contact us if this is applicable to your organisation.
