Is Your Trustee Board Up-To-Date? 🤔

If you are a trustee or committee member, you are in charge of your not-for-personal-profit group, and you should absolutely be up-to-date with the latest guidelines for running your charity. Simply by attending our training for charity trustees and senior employees you can update your knowledge and skills.

Our extensive trustee training runs online for two three-hour evening sessions over consecutive weeks, up to five times per year. At these interactive events you will have a chance to meet trustees from other local groups, hear about public benefit requirements, learn the up-to-date requirements for charities, get explanations of charity rules, and know where to get support.

By the conclusion of the training, you will have learnt about:

• The size, limitations and scope of English & Welsh charities
• The most-appropriate legal structure for your charity
• The Charity Commission’s definition of the essential duties of a trustee and what that means for you in plain language
• Personal liability, how to manage / limit that, plus other concerns
• How to recognise and manage conflicts of interest and loyalty
• The different roles on a Board and how they fit together
• Why it’s important to plan your exits and how to find new trustees
• Where advice, help and support is available
• The expectations of you as a trustee from:
  • your funders and the Regulator
  • your fellow trustees
  • your employees (if any)
  • your volunteers, and
  • your beneficiaries

And it’s not just for new trustees! Laws and regulations are changing all the time, so by attending our course, you will also have get unlimited access to up-to-date governance advice as well as the option to receive ongoing news alerts which will be highly relevant to your organisation and it’s Board.
