We are so grateful to be continually receiving requests from local companies wanting to get involved in corporate social responsibility volunteering tasks. Recently, a group from Riverbed had a productive and enjoyable day volunteering at South Hill Park, supporting the team at The Arts Centre by painting and refreshing back-of-house areas. Their support was gratefully appreciated by the team and those who work at South Hill Park.
Next, in spite of the wet weather, a group from Epicor certainly look like they enjoyed their day volunteering at Garth Meadows with the Green & Active programme, alongside Parks & Countryside Ranger, Andy Crossley. Their time was spent thinning out very overgrown Hawthorn that runs alongside the River Cut, as well as creating access points to the river.
This preparation work is part of a river restoration project, that is being facilitated by Thames 21, and supported by the Parks & Countryside department. There will be more opportunities to volunteer with this River Restoration Project in the new year, so if you, your family, company or group would like to get involved, then please get in touch!
