Fancy Getting Involved This Summer?

by | Jul 27, 2018 |

Local organisations are always in need of a helping hand, and at involve, we constantly get requests to advertise volunteering roles. The summer holidays are a great chance for you to start getting involved in some voluntary work within the community. You’ll be helping out a great cause, while giving yourself new experiences and gaining valuable skills, which will also look impressive on your CV! Here are some recent opportunities available in Bracknell Forest:

Youth Club Helpers
The Drop In Youth Club is held at Birch Hill Community Centre and has been running every other Friday since 2009. The Youth Club has now been running since 2009 & it’s
Two out of the four volunteers however are now stepping down after 8 years in their committed and dedicated role an ue to this the Youth Club is now facing closure!
The next dates for the club are September 7th & 21st from 7-9pm. Click here to find out more if you think you’d be interested in helping.

Help at Summer Events
The Summer of Fun are local events which are organised and funded by the Parish and Town Councils of Bracknell Forest. A fun day out for all the family, the Summer of Fun events include inflatables, circus skills, refreshments, crazy golf and much more!
Citizens Advice Bracknell are having a stall at the event with a kids tombola, kids activities and games and are desperately in need of volunteers to help on the stall.
Also, the hosts of this event, Bracknell Town Council, may need help with setting up the events, marshaling cars in the car park & tidying up afterwards, so why not get in touch with them to offer your assistance?

Multiple organisations are in need of trustees & chairmen to join their committed and talented Trustee Boards.
Trustees have the overall legal responsibility for a charity. At charities such as Youthline, the Bracknell Forest Natural History Society , and even here at involve, new trustees are needed to join our boards who will help support the continued development of the charity.
Also, Community Council for Berkshire , Earleywood Scout Camp , Citizen’s Advice Bracknell and Age UK Berkshire are among some of those who are seeking a Chair to provide leadership to their organisation.
These are exciting opportunities for you to play a key role in Bracknell’s Voluntary Sector and to help shape the strategic direction of these charities.

If none of these tickle your fancy, or you think you won’t have enough time to give, why not sign up to our Volunteer Pool mailing list instead? We’ve set up the Bracknell Volunteer Pool for those who want to be able to help out within the community when they can but don’t have the time to settle in to a permanent role. If you add your contact details to our database, then we’ll send out occasional updates on smaller tasks that need doing within the community. Find out more & join in by clicking here.

We also have a new Bracknell Forest Volunteers Facebook group, which we set up to encourage new, existing & potential volunteers across the borough to interact with each other and have somewhere to share news, information, advice, roles & reviews about their volunteering experiences.
