Help the Homeless

by | Mar 1, 2017 |

Of interest to organisations dealing with homeless people.

Help The Homeless makes grants to charitable organisations with the aim of helping homeless people return to the community and enabling them to resume a normal life.

They are only able to accept applications from charities registered with the Charity Commission.

What For?

Help The Homeless’s main funding remit is the regular allocation of grants for capital costs to small and medium-sized registered charities only (those with a turnover of under £1m per annum).

Grants from Help the Homeless are available to small and medium-sized charitable organisations. They do not make grants to individuals. They fund capital costs of projects – have a look at the Success Stories section for examples.

These organisations vary from small groups to established residential or training facilities.

All applications must relate to projects that assist individuals in their return to mainstream society, rather than simply offer shelter or other forms of sustenance.

They are unable to consider requests for computers and IT equipment.

How Much?

Generally up to £5,000

The quarterly deadlines for grant applications each year are: 15th March / 15th June / 15th September / 15th December. There should be a minimum period of two years between the receipt of a decision on an application and a further application from the same organisation.
