£15,000 Donation from Waitrose for Volunteer Passport Scheme
involve were delighted to receive a fantastic donation of £15,000 from Waitrose head office last week to contribute to the continuous growth and development of the Volunteer Passport Scheme. This support will enable the scheme to continue for the next 2-3 years and enable involve to further embed the scheme across the borough.
The Bracknell Forest Volunteer Passport Scheme is a partnership that encourages collaboration regarding volunteering. local charities and groups can sign up to the scheme, involve will do a review of all things volunteering; polices, procedures and agreements to establish a good level of quality regarding volunteering in the borough. Partner organisations agree to share the training they offer with other volunteers from other organisations – this creates an efficiency alongside the ability to offer a wider range of training to volunteers. An organisations volunteers are invited to join and they will receive monthly training updates of the local training opportunities available across the area.
This scheme is unique and is a real benefit to both organisations and volunteers and ultimately will contribute to more resilient communities across the area.
Phil Cook, Manager at involve said ‘We are delighted that Waitrose has made this investment in this pioneering scheme. The scheme is good for all involved and promotes learning new skills, volunteering and partnership working, 3 things that are vital in the current climate.’
