The True Colours Trust

by | Apr 12, 2017 |

Of interest to small UK charities dealing with Disabled Children, Equipment, Bereavement Support, Minibuses, Specialist Rooms

The True Colours Trust is committed to supporting a large number of excellent local organisations and projects that work with disabled children and their families on a daily basis. This is done through the Trust’s small grants programme.

The Trust only accepts applications from registered charities or those with charitable status.
The programme is unable to provide support to local authorities.
Organisations whose annual income exceeds £300,000 are unlikely to be considered.

What For?

It provides grants of to help smaller organisations develop and deliver programmes for children, their siblings and families.

Grants in this category are usually one-off contributions for projects or core costs rather than multi-year grants for on-going revenue costs.

The Trustees are particularly keen to support:
• Hydrotherapy pools
• Multi-sensory rooms
• Mini buses
• Sibling projects
• Bereavement support
• Specialised play equipment/access to play and leisure
• Family support / parent-led peer support

Trustees are keen to make the grant programme available to as many organisations as possible; it is therefore unlikely that they will fund organisations in consecutive years.

The Trustees are unlikely to fund the following:
 condition specific organisations;
 residential play schemes;
 residential special schools; and
 free schools.

How Much?

Up to £10,000

Applications are accepted throughout the year (there is no set deadline).
The Trustees meet on a quarterly basis to review applications.
