Of interest to organisations dealing with Homelessness, Penal Affairs, Asylum Seekers and Refugees, Community Based initiatives for Disadvantaged Young People Aged 16 to 25.

The aim of the Hilden Charitable Fund is to address disadvantages, notably by supporting causes which are less likely to raise funds from public subscriptions. Both the UK and overseas fund policy is directed largely at supporting work at community level.

Eligibility

• Does your project meet one of our priority areas?• Is your group formally constituted with a bank account and committee?

• Can your organisation /group demonstrate UK charitable purpose?

• Do you have adequate insurance for your service users, volunteers and employees?

• Was the income of your organisation less than £500,000 in the last financial year?

• Has your agency less than 12 months cash reserves?

• Homelessness

• Penal Affairs

• Asylum Seekers and Refugees

• Community Based initiatives for Disadvantaged Young People Aged 16 to 25.

When applying, please say what you actually do.If you are requesting grant aid for their community-based initiatives for disadvantaged young people aged 16-25, they will only fund programmes that are helping these young people in the job market, with advice, training, volunteering and work placement schemes.If you are requesting grant aid for their health programmes it is essential to give details of the person managing the project.Please do not apply with lots of information on ‘need’ by regurgitating statistics (e.g. we are 15th most deprived ward in the UK). If you feel you need to present statistics please ensure you give a) sources and b) actual numbers especially if percentages are quoted.

How Much?

Average grants are £5,000. Hilden will consider funding for more than one year.
