Fidelio Charitable Trust
Of interest to Organisations dealing with Arts, Music, including Opera, Lieder, Composition and Dance
The Fidelio Charitable Trust welcomes applications for grants in support of the Arts particularly for Music, including Opera, Lieder, Composition and Dance.
Applications need to be supported by Institutions, Colleges, Arts Festivals and other arts organisations in the United Kingdom or by persons with recognised relevant expertise. Applications from individuals or groups seeking funding for themselves without such support will not be accepted.
Fidelio looks to provide support for individuals or groups of exceptional ability, to enable them for example:
- To receive special tuition or coaching (e.g. in the case of musicians to attend Master Classes)
- To participate in external competitions
- To be supported for a specially arranged performance
- To receive support for a special publication, musical composition or work of art
The Trustees aim to help individuals and groups who would not be able to carry out a project or activity without financial support, particularly those who are at an early stage in their careers. Such individuals and groups must be recommended by an appropriate person in an institution, college, Arts Festival and similar organisations. Applications by those seeking support for themselves will not be considered by the trustees.
The person representing the recommending institution or organisation must vouch for the competence and skill of those for whom they are applying to Fidelio and state how they were selected. They should explain their professional relationship with the individual or group, and describe accurately the project or activity for which money is required.
Fidelio’s funds are limited and no single grant will normally be greater than £5,000. The trustees, while willing to provide support, may sometimes only be able to part-fund a project or activity.
Trustees meetings are normally held three times a year in February, June and October. Provisional closing dates for receipt of applications in 2017-18 are:
- 1 October 2017
- 1 February 2018
Closing dates are subject to change so please check the website before submitting your application.
