Mental Health First Aid – what is that?
It is First Aid for people experiencing emotional or mental distress – including support for people experiencing suicidal feelings. It is aimed at saving lives, improving responses to those in distress and to making our society more compassionate. MHFA is an Internationally acclaimed training course and is accredited in the UK by the Royal Society for Public Health.
A practical skills and awareness course designed to give you:
− A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including your own
− Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
− Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
− Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
− Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support
Great for those working with vulnerable people, managers in all industries and anyone who would like to learn the skills to support someone in distress. On completion, you will receive a very comprehensive MHFA manual, a workbook and a certificate of attendance.
Please note: This is a two day course. By booking a place you will have to attend both sessions on 23rd and 30th September 2020.
